Livestock Department

The Livestock Department at Help and Care (Sahayog Ra Sarokar) was established in 2001. Its establishment was guided by the Government of Nepal’s policies and programs focusing on agricultural participation. Since Nepal is predominantly an agricultural country, this department plays an important role in strengthening the livestock sector.

As of November 2024, livestock contributed 7 percent to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP). To orient and train farmers, particularly those in rural areas, the department has been conducting various livestock-related training programs. These initiatives have significantly benefited farmers engaged in livestock rearing.

Our main objective is to promote the industrial development and expansion of livestock farming through advanced training programs and systematic monitoring.

Activities conducted by the Livestock Department include:

  1. Providing training on various aspects of livestock rearing

  2. Publishing journals and bulletins

  3. Post-training monitoring and follow-up of conducted programs
